“Linear” hikes begin at one point and end further along the trail at another point. You need to walk from one point to another and then return. Better yet if you have more than one car, park one car at the end and drive the other car to the start of the linear point-to-point trail. When you reach the end of the hike, drive back to the start.
“Linear return” hikes follow the trail for a certain distance and then return along the same trail to the starting point.
All hikes below are assumed to be loop hikes unless designated as linear.
